Some Tip for Accommodation

A short guide.

In the area you find a handful large hotels and some small hotels. Some are situated close to the sea, some in the inland. There aren't so many Bed and Breakfast accommodations here yet. Camping grounds are a lot more usually to find, the have very different standard from one to five stars. You find them as the hotels from the sea side to the inland. Youth Hostels are frequently visited, but are here also used of family's, and of normally very good standard.

Hotels

The hotels in Sweden aren't classified into a official system of stars. Sometimes the show a unofficial amount of stars. The price give a hint of the standard, but a expensive hotel could also depend of being situated close to the sea. Breakfast is always included in the price. You are often asked to leave a registration of your credit card on arrival.

You can count a low price hotel cost about 800 crooner per double room and night.
A middle class hotel close to sea cost about 1500 - 2000 crooner per double room and night.
A high class hotel cost over 2000 crooner per double room and night.
Price is often depending of countryside or town, high season or low season, week days or weekends.

When and how much is it common to tip? It is normal to tip in Sweden as most countries. The most common way is not a certain percent but to round up the total sum of the bill. For instance if the bill is 92 crooner it is common to raise it to 100 crooner, but if the bill is for 99 crooner it is common to raise it to 110 crooner. Places where it´s common to tip is restaurants, hotels and taxis, and where you don´t have to tip like a hairdresser.

Camping Grounds

Camping grounds are classified into a system of stars as in most countries. Five stars guarantee best standard and facilities. Most camping grounds in northern Bohuslän also have cabins to let.

Youth Hostels

Youth hostels in Sweden attracts also family with a comfortable standard. You are supposed to bring your own bed linen, clean up, cook your own meals. Sometimes you can buy a breakfast buffet in the morning. Most (but not every) youth hostel connected to one of to chains, STF or SVIF

July means pre booking

Usually there is no problem to find accommodation in northern Bohuslän. The big exception is July, then you always have to pre book to assure you a place for stay the night in this area.
